Important Information - Strep A and Scarlet FeverDear Parent/Carer
We have been informed that a few pupils who attend our school have been diagnosed with Group A Streptococcus or Scarlet Fever. The Public Health Agency have advised that because of increased rates Group A Streptococcus in the community compared to what is usually seen at this time of year, that it is not unexpected that schools and early years settings will see cases.
The Public Health Agency has provided the attached leaflet for parents/carers. Please read it as it contains useful information about scarlet fever and other infections caused by Group A Streptococcus.
If your child is unwell, they should not attend school.
If your child is diagnosed with scarlet fever they should stay at home and not attend school for at least 24 hours after starting the antibiotic treatment, to avoid spreading the infection.
Further information about scarlet fever is available on the PHA website: https://www.publichealth.hscni.net/news/scarlet-fever and http://pha.site/scarlet-fever-2022 and also on NI Direct https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/conditions/scarlet-fever

NI Water Winter AdviceFrom NI Water
As temperatures continue to drop we would appreciate it if you could share the winter advice attached with your colleagues, estate management and with parents.
We would also ask if you could remind pupils of the dangers of playing on or near frozen water bodies including reservoirs.
Many thanks

Outstanding Dinner Money PaymentsIt's a very busy time at the moment and sometimes we may forget to book school meals. If, for whatever reason you need to pay for a missed school meal, for your child, instead of double booking the next time, simply select 'Bookings' and then 'Outstanding Dinner Money Payments' option. It is straight forward from here.
Many thanks,
The School Office
