Last week was another busy week for 5AM! We were learning about words ending in ‘able’ and ‘ible’, paragraphs, fractions and bar charts! Also, we learned about rainforest deforestation, read ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ by Lynne Cherry and wrote a speech for a rainforest animal of our choice outlining the reasons why the men should not chop down the Great Kapok Tree. In addition, we completed our weekly AR quizzes and tasks set on Mathletics to earn house points. Furthermore, we looked at the ‘Spirit of the Rainforest’ artwork at the Eden Project and created our own ‘Spirit of the Rainforest’ artwork, compared and contrasted our lives with that of the people of the rainforests, learned some ways that together we can take care of the earth, practised our listening skills using different games, recreated the sounds of the rainforest using everyday sounds and we have been practising the Marathon Challenge and creating our own obstacle course in preparation for the Virtual Sports Day. Yet another busy week!
