Mrs Thom’s class have been busy this term working on lots of activities linked to our World Around Us topic ‘Mighty Machines’.
During our Road Safety week the Year 5 classes looked at the history of the bike and studied all the changes before designing a bike for the future.
We also continued our work on the human body by looking at our lungs and how they work. We then completed an experiment in which we measured our respiratory rate whilst sitting and then before and after exercise.
We also looked at car designs and how they are powered before we designed a car of our own. Then we made our own ‘balloon powered cars’ using recycled materials. We have had a busy term!
