Ballymoney Model Integrated Primary School

In Mrs Mailey’s class we have enjoyed our topic of ‘Hunger.’ We conducted an experiment and made predictions, decided which equipment we needed and which conditions would be beneficial for the potatoes to grow tubers. We researched the most undernourished countries and learnt some facts about hunger. We also created posters based on information from the Trocaire website and used adverts for inspiration. We also learnt about the different stages of the growth of a potato. Finally, as we reached the end of our topic, we recalled at least one fact from each of the different areas within the topic of Hunger. Throughout Term 1, we read ‘Under the Hawthorn Tree’ and the children all thoroughly enjoyed the book.
