Mrs Kennedy's Year 7 class were working very hard today on their practical maths and problem solving skills. This is a great way to consolidate what learning has already taken place during the previous weeks and is also a good way of assessing the pupils' understanding of a concept.
Pupils were able to take part in a variety of activities which will be rotated so all can be experienced:
- Mathletics: fraction activities and challenges on Live Mathletics
- Fruit Fractions: pupils use their problem solving skills to figure out all the different combinations of fruit to make the total of 10
- Make 37: pupils were allowed to choose ten numbers from four bags to make the total of 37
- izak9: anti magic square: pupils used numbers 1-9 to make a 3x3 square where all the rows, columns and diagonals were not allowed to add up to the same total.
