This week in Mathematics & Numeracy Year 5 have been learning and identifying the lines of symmetry in 2-Dshapes.
Year 5 have enjoyed using mirrors to identify the number of lines of symmetry in 2-D shapes. We have also had fun making geometrical coloured patterns with geoboards and recording this in our class Mathematics & Numeracy class books.
The new Collins Busy Ant Maths scheme, we are implementing into our class Mathematics & Numeracy lessons and trying out the new interactive rotational tools and shapes to help us understand the properties of 2-D shapes.

Have a look at Home and in the World Outdoors and see if you can find symmetrical lines of symmetry in everyday shapes and objects in the environment.
