Year 6 Shared Education Lesson 36 March 2020 (by Class Teacher (teacher)) |
The Year 6 pupils of Ballymoney Model CIPS and St. Joseph’s P.S Dunloy enjoyed their third Shared Education lesson yesterday, focusing on their ‘Transport’ theme.
Peter Waugh of Sentinus used his expert level of engineering knowledge to guide the pupils through three fascinating and practical STEM projects. The first project required the pupils to work collaboratively to create a turbine. Next, the pupils learned about helicopters and worked together to create their own helicopter using a variety of materials. The pupils' final challenge was to design a rocket that was capable of soaring into the sky when pumped. All of the groups enjoyed lots of success in each of the challenges, and many of the rockets shot very high up into the sky!
We would like to thank Peter Waugh and Sentinus for facilitating another very successful Shared Education day.
