What's Under Your Feet?
During Science Week Year 5 participated in the citizen science campaign "What's Under Your Feet?" The pupils in Mrs Murphy's class dug up a soli pod in the school grounds, sieved the soil very gently to find, observe and record all the soil invertebrates. Afterwards the soil pod was placed back carefully. This practical scientific survey helps the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) to identify changes and differences in invertebrate and bird populations. Mrs Murphy's class enjoyed the Outdoor science skills of observing, measuring, identifying and recording their information.
