Opportunity to Spread Hope at Local Care Home

23 April 2020 (by Class Teacher (teacher))

Could your child help to bring a smile to some local care home residents in Ballymoney?

We have recently been contacted by the Court Care Home in Ballymoney with a lovely opportunity for our pupils to get involved in spreading some hope and positive cheer to their residents.

This is a very difficult time for all of us, but especially for those in care homes where visiting has been postponed, leaving many residents unable to see any of their loved ones and missing them greatly.

The Court Care Home would love it if our pupils could create a letter, poem, picture or poster to brighten the day of their residents.

If you would like your child/ren to to get involved please send your creations to the attention of:

Laverne Quigg, Activities Coordinator,
Court Care Home,

Some ideas which you might like to use:
- Write a short letter to introduce yourself and tell them about what you have been doing during lockdown/over the Easter holidays.
- Write a positive poem to bring hope and joy to the residents during this time.
- Draw, colour or paint a picture of a rainbow or maybe one of your favourite places in the local area as we are unable to visit any of these places at the moment.
- Create a poster reminding residents how they can stay safe or talking about all that we can look forward to when this is over.
